Child Therapy

HELPING KIDS FEEL SEEN, HEARD, AND UNDERSTOOD

As adults, we sometimes look at kids and think, “They’ve got it easy.” Everything is still ahead of them, and childhood feels like it should be simple. But kids today live in a world that’s more complex than ever. They face pressures we never imagined — social media, academic demands, friendships that can shift overnight, and an overwhelming number of choices about who they’re supposed to be.

At Blueprint Mental Health, we know that being a kid isn’t always easy. That’s why we offer Child Therapy designed to help kids feel safe, understood, and empowered to navigate their world with confidence. Our warm, supportive environment allows children ages 3 and up to explore feelings, build resilience, and learn the tools to handle life’s ups and downs.

The World Our Kids Live In

Kids today are growing up in a world that moves fast — maybe too fast. Between social pressures, technology, and the constant comparison that comes from living online, it’s easy for children to feel anxious, frustrated, or misunderstood.

At Blueprint, we take the time to slow things down. Our child therapists specialize in helping kids express themselves through play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interactive sessions that meet them right where they are.

Creating the Right Environment

We believe therapy should feel inviting, not intimidating. Our offices are bright, comfortable, and filled with warmth — a place where kids can relax and be themselves. Our clinicians use developmentally appropriate techniques to help children put big feelings into words (or play) so they can start to understand and manage them.

Common Issues We Help Kids With

  • Anxiety or excessive worry
  • Sadness or irritability
  • Difficulty with focus, attention, or impulsivity
  • Emotional outbursts or frustration
  • Trouble adjusting to school, new environments, or family changes
  • Social challenges or bullying
  • Perfectionism or fear of failure

Every child is unique, which is why our treatment plans are personalized to their needs and personality.

Parent Involvement

While we keep child sessions confidential, we believe strongly in parent collaboration. We help parents understand what’s going on beneath the behavior, provide insight into emotional development, and teach practical strategies that work at home.

Parent coaching helps bridge the gap between what’s learned in therapy and what happens in real life — ensuring growth continues beyond our office walls.

We offer Individual Counseling, which includes Play Therapy and traditional talk therapy, Group Counseling for children, along with Parent Coaching / Support Sessions. Please click the link of the service you’re interested in.

How We Help Kids Grow

Our clinicians use evidence-based methods like CBT and play therapy to help children make sense of their emotions in a way that feels natural. Through games, stories, art, and conversation, kids learn self-awareness, coping skills, and problem-solving — skills that will serve them for life.

We focus on creating corrective emotional experiences — moments where children feel seen, validated, and supported in a way that rewires old emotional patterns and builds self-confidence.
